Why Conor McGregor Really Won

Everybody in the world is talking about the Mcgregor vs Mayweather fight that ended in a 10th round technical knock out by Floyd Mayweather.
Most people think there are two sides to a competitive match up: the winner, and the loser.
But the beautiful thing about life is you can always create different variables that hold extreme value whether you win or lose.
What do I mean by that?
Well I believe there is a third addition to the world of competitive match ups.
It’s the person who takes the loss and learns from it.
Call them a student if you will. I prefer to refer to them as the “undefinable”. This person truly understands that no matter what they say, no matter what they think they aren’t in control of every minute detail when it comes to facing the competitor in front of them.
You can have all the attributes, all the skill, all the intelligence, but this doesn’t mean you will come out victorious.
There are a lot of variables to the game of competitive sports and even business.
Let me sum up my thoughts in one sentence.
True winners can accept a loss because losing doesn’t define them as a human being. You can call someone a loser and another person a winner but what makes someone a winner and a loser in life?
It isn’t the scoreboard, the end result, or whose hand is raised.
Ok I know this doesn’t sound quite right, but allow me to explain this idea a little more.
I’m searching for a way to win even when I lose, doesn’t that make me victorious? If I can take a loss, a failed attempt and adapt, learn and come back even better doesn’t that make me a winner?
A winner is somebody who wins something either that be a contest or a conflict that is deeper than superficial results that truly don’t make or break you.
A winner is someone who is victorious and successful in life let alone an event that lasts for a limited amount of time.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is everyone who is on the outside looking in believes there is a defined winner and loser.
But I think it’s impossible to label someone a winner or a loser just based on a game we are all playing.
You may be asking” Why does losing hurt so bad and winning feel so good though?”
It’s because we are all inevitably desiring more success, victory, glory, riches and wins and even more so if we come from poverty and an environment that is destructive and damaging to the human body and mind.
No one likes losing, except for people who understand that none of the labels matter anyways.
You can’t win unless you fail/lose. You can’t understand your limits unless you know your own strengths and weaknesses, and test those abilities.
At the end of the day you can be the person that beats yourself up and dwells upon a loss as if it’s the end of your life, but who knows it might be a chance for you to grow, and develop into a stronger, wiser person.
There is nothing wrong with winning and nothing is wrong with losing. There is a lot wrong with defining yourself as a loser based solely on the fact you have lost at something.
Everyone loses at something in life.
Numbers, records, opinions and words don’t make a man successful in life, it’s his own mindset and belief in himself that makes a true winner in life and in everything you encounter.
It’s all a mental attitude thing. Never stop working on your yourself. Stop being so quick to judge every experience as black and white.
The world isn’t black and white. There are a lot of variables.
Are you going to be a winner, a loser or the person who is unique, extraordinary and what I like to call “undefinable?”
