MOCK SOMM

Not just clean and light but a spark of intrigue and passion. Initial sensory contact is entirely jazzed, jazzy with the melon and tropical honey-melon and peach sea air rushing toward you. But all with contained melody…. A bottle that puts you in a scene, on a beach, or on a boat, looking out at the ocean and not letting normal everyday worry wrap itself around you. Freeing, liberating in its musical layers and leaps. As wine lovers, and HUMANS, I think we’re always pursuing freedom to some degree. This bottle and the Edna Valley Sauvignon Blanc blocks hear this beckoning. They responding, as did the oenology team, carefully walking with the clusters through fermentation, aging, to ensure such vocals. They didn’t just “shepherd” the wine through fermentation, as so many say… no, I get a sense they walked right alongside it, communicating with the clusters and resulted juice every parcel of the journey. Yes, it’s “clean” as so many want to say or look for in Sauv Blanc, there’s more here. Freeing identity and tangibility. What I needed last night, and what so many of us require every now and again.
