To me, this is strange way to look at the article but not one that is unfamiliar to me. There is no “diminishing” of “MEN” who are “WHITE” in promoting inclusion of people who are neither. And for the record, there was none in the piece I wrote. Yet even so, I hear complaints about exclusion every time anyone seeks to bring everyone else to the table.
However, I must point out that feeling somehow persecuted every time anyone promotes inclusion is exactly how entitlement works–when one (consciously or unconsciously) enjoys the benefits of that entitlement.
Whether you realize it or not, there is plenty of loaded vocabulary (“perverse need” “LGBT agenda” et al) in your complaint. Seeing as I both know you and I know you have worked with Dr Mae Jemison, perhaps you should ask her what she thinks of my piece.
And then show Dr Jemison your response. The experience may help us all move forward.
