Erick,

I just read this post, and some of the responses, and I can only say that so many of the responses are from the proto-typical Millennial stereotype. Self-Centered and Immature, with an inbred sense of being owed something by other people.

These respondents, as well as the original post author, Sahat Yalkabov, lack perspective and attachment to reality.

Any manager involved in the hiring process has experienced what you wrote about. Every company owner has had that experience.

What they fail to understand is exactly how unimportant and trivial they are to the company goals and leadership paths. They believe that they are some Universal gift to technology (and humanity) and that companies are stupid for not beating down a path to their door.

For each tech job opening in this country there are thousands of applicants that are as qualified or more qualified than they are. I know that hurts their feelings, but reality is a bitch.

The candidate/employee must conform to the company, not the other way around. Those that do not conform, do not get hired or do not keep their job.

One day they will get tired of getting smacked in the head by reality and either deal with it as an adult or remain poor, undesirable, and serving coffee at Starbucks.
