Here’s how small-town America is primed to beat Silicon Valley in innovation

It’s heartwarming to know that the “bubbles” of ingenuity are being popped, or at least have started to leak one by one into the rest of the world. I myself attended a highly ranked engineering university in Missouri, and found it disconcerting that their job placement rate was ~98%. 98%? Those 2% aren’t starting companies, those are just the few who fall through the cracks. Where are the innovative companies? Why are so many of these brilliant kids just finding themselves behind a desk doing “defect engineering”?

Thank you Robert, for being a voice of reason and inspiration for all the “small towns” out there filled with amazing talent.
