Oculus Go is 3DoF. Immersive VR, the kind that creates adopters, is 6DoF. When I lean into the virtual world, I can see it! It will take some clever designs to make a 3DoF compelling for much more than movie watching on a mass scale.

Enthusiasts will find interesting uses, same as the gear or cardboard, but we won’t see much else beyond that.

Not to say there aren’t incredible experiences to be had with 3DoF, I’m just not getting my hopes up that the Go is the answer. Integrate 6DoF and keep a similar price point and now we’re talking!
