Thessaloniki, still wonderful

This city is magical. Has something in the air… A sweetness and sadness at the same time…

We ve been there at the heart of greek crisis. One of the fiercest strikes was taking place and the city was literally paralyzed. Nothing was working, not even the cafeterias…

Nevertheless the city was wonderful, with a lovely atmosphere in the roads.

I started my headline with the word “still”… For the people that have lived there even for a while, the city has a very different meaning. This is a city we loved and we loved in :)

As usual we had a very relaxing walk by the sea. We really much enjoyed the freezing air in our faces…

We ve gone for lunch at the restaurant Magganies. A cozy atmosphere with amazing greek twisted cuisine and a wine list that was more than satisfying…

Later on, we had a great coffee and dessert at the Garcon cafe-bistro. We really enjoyed the jazzy vibes there. I ve noticed there also that on nights there is live music with some great artists and bands. Totally recommended.

At last, we have been told for the new trend of the city, Masticha. A must visit tavern at Ladadika area. Next time I m gonna visit it and try some steaks and Tsipouro. Yeah, they told me that they have great selections :)

Thessaloniki, Till the next time…

PS. Before we arrive at Thessaloniki we had a stunning view of our very own Chalkidiki…enjoy :)

You look carefully, you can see the best places of first leg coast, Marmaras on the second, and Mount Athos in the background watching all of us…
