Conservatism is a State of Being

This is brilliant. If I were a millennial, I’d write it as: This.Is.Brilliant.

The challenge is to persuade people, by the millions, that conservatism yields better outcomes for more people than any other system of societal organization. Modern liberals and socialists, beneath the veneer of feel-goodism, believe that conservatism is at heart a mean-spirited philosophy which seeks to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few (the “1%”) at the expense of everyone else. Ironically they advocate consolidating power in the hands of even fewer (the government) to combat this evil.

Clever politicians have exploited the insecurities of people who either can’t or won’t compete in the free market to establish and maintain their power. Whether or not they actually deliver anything to their constituents is beside the point — that they say they will is good enough. Since Obama’s election, the plight of black people has worsened, never mind all the soaring promises. Enough said.

Until significant numbers understand that a conservative, free market society offers more good for more people than anything else, it will be an uphill battle. This won’t take place until our major institutions, most importantly the public schools and the media, get behind and promote this idea.
