Hillary said last week that she believes in natural gas as a “bridge fuel”. That means that whatever she said in her one hour Florida speech is meaningless, Al Gore’s presence notwithstanding. Climate researchers know that gas is just as bad as coal, due to fugitive methane emissions at every stage. Climate Progress has covered this before, via Howarth citations.

The Democrats are better than the Republicans, but this isn’t good enough. She can promise ten billion solar panels if she wants. If we don’t embark on an ambitious program to close all fossil fuel power plants- and soon- say adios to any chances of a happy future for our children. Ask the Democrats if cascading climate disaster is more “realistic” than serious action to stop it.
