How to start building an audience when you don’t have any audience yet
Sagi Shrieber

Sagi — thank you for a great article! Highly motivating. I think the idea of a curated newsletter is perfect for developing and reaching an audience.

You may have a view on a sort of dilemma that I have. As an independent developer of some years experience I have much that I would like to pass on, share and guide others starting out. I would also like to give shout-outs to all the great people working in the web and database development field. However, these are not the people who are going to hire me.

So I would also like to reach out to businesses and organisations who I know I can help — if they only knew they needed it! I would like to share case studies and articles about the ways in which technology is able to enhance and support small to medium sized businesses — in the hope that it may encourage contact and discussion.

I see these as two different audiences but I feel like I want to be able to reach out to both. Should I do just that? Foster two different sets of relationships? Your thoughts would be welcome.
