The Dangers of our Human-Centric Worldview

We humans are the centre of the universe.

We do everything in our power to ensure that all creatures great and small either conform to a tolerated place in our societies, or we eradicate them. Any creature that isn’t fit for purpose is a menace.

Our leaders pick and choose which science suits their agenda. If the scientific evidence doesn’t suit party policy, then it is wrong and unnecessary. Such scientists should be ignored, and the useful data presented by minority or fringe scientists should be adhered to. Or worse. Science should just go out the window instead.

It leaves me to question — are we custodians of this Earth, or are we overlords?
