Do you know Meital Dohan? If you are in the US and were a fan of the TV show “Weeds” (Showtime) then you very likely do as she played Yael Hoffman on that show. If you never watched the show or want to watch it again it is available many places online.

Aside from that show, Meital had already made a name for herself internationally before coming to the United States. Born in Israel she began her acting career there and was recognized with nominations for two Israeli Oscar nominations and an Israeli Tony Award.

Her acting career in film, TV and on stage is really much more extensive than most people realize. Check out her listing on IMDB for a full rundown. Her filmography includes an upcoming release (2018) of a film called Cabaret Maxime which has a page on IMDB and is listed as being in post-production at the moment.

I first got to know Meital when I heard one of her songs on YouTube. I got to see the evolution of her crossover from acting to music from a web perspective and learned that having a name in Hollywood doesn’t necessarily go very far in the music business. You still have to prove yourself there to (potentially) a whole new audience.
