This is a pet peeve of mine as I my job , along w/ another 1,000 , were lost from such unfettered globalization — from a bad corporatist Clinton policy. I have found that the people who say stuff like Maher here tend to be people who were not directly or indirectly ( close loved one) affected by the adverse effects of globalization — in other words, they are insulated from this.

There was a piece in the Chicago Tribune today where it was said that AMericans are ambivalent about Free Trade: they like cheap shoes at DWS , but do not like to lose jobs. Think about this stmt for a moment: what is more important , a (middle class ) job or some cheap shoes? Loss of a job is devastating to put it mildly. You can always get some shoes — believe me, I have used that shoe glue .

This is why Bernie should NOT give in for an endorsement while TPP is not explicitly opposed — at a minimum. It would mean that the fucking republicans/trump would be on the LEFT of the Dems on this!
