I Left The “Grand Old Party” Today

I’m with you, Luis. For many years I’ve felt that neither party represents me. At different times, I’ve been registered both Republican and Democrat, so I’m on both their mailing lists. The souls of the parties are revealed in their fund-raising letters, masquerading as surveys, where their core values are contained in the questions.
- Republicans. Anti gay marriage, throw the immigrants out, head in sand re environmental and climate issues, cut back regardless of impact, claim to support small business but always favor the big corporations
- Democrats. Anti rich people, government managed health care, always support unions and employees over business, play the race and PC cards, add programs regardless of results, claim to support the middle class but keep raising their taxes
I’m socially fairly liberal, but an economic conservative. I’ve often wished for a third party, but none that have arisen have appealed to me.
I’ve always found somebody to vote for, but this year, with Trump vs. Hillary, I am gagging at the choice.
