Tom, use Nanowrimo as a tool to serve your writing, whatever direction it takes you. The goal is to write 50k words. If it serves you, write 5 short stories @ 10k words.

My problem is I’m a lousy and slow typist. So I dictate. I talk a lot faster than I type. I get a story idea, walk in the hills, and talk into my iPhone. Then I get the recordings transcribed. My blather comes back as Word docs that I edit. Doing this, I piled up 80k words in Nano two years ago. (I’m just now going back to work on that story again.)
