Using Clonezilla to image and getting the error ntfclone-ng-c: NTFS Volume ‘/dev/sd##’ is scheduled for a check or it was shutdown uncleanly. Please boot Windows or fix it by fsck.

The fix is to

  1. Turn on your computer
  2. Let Windows Start
  3. Restart the computer (Not Shutdown) do this 2x
  4. On the 3x — if you’re using Windows 10, press the start button and type cmd but run in administrator mode
  5. type chkdsk /F (This will force a check disk upon booting up Windows)
  6. Restart the computer again
  7. Let Windows start back up — DO NOT press any keys — you will see the check disk start, watch it until it gets close to 100% and get ready to press F11 or the key to change the boot order, while it’s restarting again plug in your USB stick with the clonezilla before you have to press F11. The goal is to detect the USB stick before the boot menu
  8. Once you’re in and ready to use clonezilla again, the error for scheduled for a check or it was shuwdown uncleanly should be gone.
