What are unicorn people?

When you first hear the term unicorn people what do you think of? You probably think of a majestic beast infused with an ordinary human being. But I’m here to tell you that they are neither of those creatures. They are extraordinary risk-takers that affect billions of people worldwide. They build companies from the ground up, they inspire others, and they change the world.

How does a unicorn affect billions of people?

You’re probably wondering how these unicorns affect billions of people alone. They do it by developing an innovation that makes the lives of billions easier. One example of this innovation is Apple’s iPhone. The original iPhone’s physical design differed significantly from that of other smartphones. The front of the iPhone had a single physical button that displayed the device’s main menu. The rest of the device comprised of a large touch-sensitive screen that lets the user access all the iPhone’s functions. The iPhone’s striking design contributed to much of its success, leading other manufacturers to design phones with similar interfaces. Steve Jobs revolutionized the term “smartphone” which made him immensely popular and ultimately a unicorn.

So how can you be a unicorn?

Be unique. We look up to unique people. If you are unique, you are ultimately interesting. Interesting people naturally attract and surround themselves with other interesting people. These people are looking for more interesting and unique ideas to add on to theirs. The more people they meet, the more ideas are created, the more likely a solution is formed. This is due to the positives of every idea being merged into one excellent solution. The more reliable the solution, the more likely it is to attract others. This brings more ideas which creates a feedback loop of more people bringing more ideas.

Become comfortable being uncomfortable. This creates two positives that will ultimately push you: motivation and popularity.

Motivation: Placing yourself in uncomfortable situations motivates you and others around you. When you plant yourself in harsh situations, you become more confident. If you are confident, you can work faster and more exceptionally.

Popularity: When you have a personal struggle, you also build a connection between you and your supporters. People want to look up to others that they can relate to, especially in hardships they too have faced. They look at the strategies that the unicorns have used and try to use those strategies for themselves. If your tactics worked, people share the word about you, and because of that, your reputation and popularity increases

If you take these steps and add them to your day-to-day lifestyle, you could become a unicorn. All you need is some imagination and determination.

What comes next?

In general, being a unicorn would give you wealth and fame that you have always dreamed of. But what would you do with those resources? You could thank the people who helped you and then get on your high horse. You could kick back and relax, knowing that you have completed your life’s goal and no more work would have to be done. If you would do that, you aren’t truly a unicorn at all. A true unicorn would keep persisting and trying to learn more. They would try to make a greater impact than they ever did before. One amazing example of this is Bill Gates. After having huge success with Microsoft, he had all the money in the world and he could relax and have a calm and peaceful rest of his life. But he didn’t take the easy way out. He and his wife Melinda created the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which helps struggling families in third world countries have clean water and other amenities that a privileged citizen in the US would have no worries about. According to The Guardian, as of 2018, the foundation has helped more than 122 million people. He is a true example of a unicorn.

To close it off, I want to leave you with one last question. Would you put the time and effort to become a unicorn? And if your answer is yes, and you decide to put in the work, you can make a long lasting impact like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs have done with their companies and their success.
