Individualism vs Collectivism: sci-fi view

There is a concept about the transitivity of civilizations, from the zero type to the third.

Civilization type 0 is a planet that just enters the path of cosmic expansion, extracts energy from oil, coal, dead plants. At the moment, the planet Earth is in this category.

Civilization of the 1st type is a planetary civilization that uses the resources of its domina-planet for 100 percent, actively uses RES (renewable energy sources), colonizes the planets within its solar system to create outposts, and as additional sources of useful resources. This type we can meet in the comics about Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.

Civilization of the 2nd type is a stellar civilization, it consumes so much energy that it can play with the stars. This, for example, is the federation of planets in the Star Trek.

Civilization of the 3rd type is galactic. According to the estimates of futurologists, it is practically impossible to achieve this level of development. Example — Empire of the Star Wars.

At the moment there are two trends: the first is multiculturalism, which leads us to a society based on increasing tolerance to representatives of races different from ours. The main engines are the Internet and the English language as universal communication tools.

The second trend is international organizations and informal forums. How did it happen that the European Union, whose countries fought for many years, eventually united and became a significant player in the political arena? There is an opinion that this move was made with the aim of counterbalancing NAFTA. This was made possible by collectivism.

The transition to a type 1 civilization is already near, it will come with the current level of development after 100 years. But we can accelerate it if we use examples of collectivism as the main principle of the organization and promotion of our society.
