This is a questionable piece of advice, since if fingerprint unlocking is enabled, law enforcement and/or motivated criminals just need to put your finger on a small sensor once to unlock your phone, regardless whether you are dead or alive.

And even if they don’t have a real finger but just your fingerprint, they can reliably recreate a finger that works for less than $1k.
