Philanthropy and Katherine Meckler

Philanthropy can be said that burning desire to help and support the welfare of others (mostly people you do not know). It can be done is so many ways and the most common of them is through generous donations of money for these good causes. For a lot of people, philanthropy doesn’t come easy, it does for a very few and Katherine Meckler is one of those few. Known as one the top real estate agents in New York City and also for her philanthropy, Katherine Meckler has made it very clear that firstly, she is really selfless, she is concerned about the betterment of the world and she does all she can to better it, and that she doesn’t take advantage of her financial privilege. Her charity work can be said to be as impressive as her professional career.

Being active in so many causes is generally not an easy task, but Katherine is involved in a lot of them. From her support of the HIV / AIDS awareness, the NYPL and its ‘Young Lions’, and the Central Park Conservancy. She was one of the high-profile attendants at the Love Heals benefit events which were organized by one of the top HIV / AIDS Awareness Organizations in the world. She is very much interested in maintaining (and growing) the green space in New York City healthy because she believes that the right amount of nature in an urban landscape will help keep the minds of its inhabitants healthy and for this, she stands on her grounds and maintains support for the Central Park Conservancy. Also, as one of the lead supporters of the New York Public Library, she helps support the minds of New Yorkers. She belongs to a membership group called the Young Lions and they are a group of New Yorkers in their 20s and 30s whose love for literature, events, and the library has made them come together. One of Katherine’s major focus is providing access to resources, books, e-books (anything that supports and develops the mind) for New Yorkers of all backgrounds.

Being caring, thoughtful and compassionate are very visible parts of Katherine that we can all see; she tries her best to make ways and channels that enable the less fortunate to feels some love and support.

Katherine also works with and donates to the following

Love Heals: this being one of the leading HIV/AIDS Awareness Organizations in the world, she chose to support because “the organization’s incredible and relentless outreach to kids and teenagers saves lives. What Stefani Greenfield, Victoria Leacock Hoffman, and Dini von Mueffling created is enduring and impressive.”

Central Park Conservancy: knowing that the Central park is vital for all New Yorkers, she said, “Did you know the Central Park Conservancy raises over 75 percent of Central Park’s annual budget? Keeping Central Park beautiful is something every New Yorker can appreciate — and it’s why I had to get involved.”. The goal of Central Park Conservancy is “to restore, manage, and enhance Central Park in partnership with the public. Central Park Conservancy aspires to build a great organization that sets the standard for and spreads the principles of world-class park management — emphasizing environmental excellence — to improve the quality of open space for the enjoyment of all.”

As Katherine Meckler says, “It’s an honor to work with such talented people, and for such a tremendous cause.”
