Let Them Say

Let Them Say

If they ever tell my story, let them say:

I lived in a time of fools

I lived in a time of hatred

I lived…in the time of greed

Men die neither for glory nor honor

They fall chasing the bark of trees

The depth of their pockets defines their worth

Not the depth of their character, not the depth of their soul

I faintly smile at these slaves of men

They pass me by like the morning breeze

What is it that they seek?

Money, fame, respect, love…

That’s all they see

They say hard work, determination

Will bring these blessed gifts

But why malign the beauty

Of Good Qualities

For hard work and determination

Never entitled anyone the gifts of this dirty lottery

Hard work, character, dedication, perseverance…

All Worthy Qualities

Why do the right thing…

When all you want is the wrong thing

Stop toiling away at work for the desire of gold

Find Your Passion

Stop burning your eyes, your soul

In hopes of finding fame, respect, and love most of all

Let your character be Respectable

Let your morals and actions be Famous

Let yourself be Lovable

If you follow this, be warned

You will be showered with Gold,

Love, Respect, Fame, and Even More
