Signals: My First Poem

I recently have been getting into poetry, and I have completed my first poem called “Signals.” Hope you enjoy the poem!

Signals

I know not what lies within

I only see it in the wind

I merely grasp the wisps of tidings

Never the words they’re wrapped in

I unravel the pieces I’ll never keep

Only to find something I wanted to seek

These eyes tell lies; I feel weak

Why can’t my mind fall asleep

On the bank of that quiet river

In the midst of a fierce storm

That same breeze makes me shiver

While I burn in flames without form

I lure these signals to my coffin

So they can never be forgotten
