The Fisherman and The Bullfrog
Each morning, before the faintest ray touched the night sky, a fisherman rose from his rustic slumber. He set sail just as the yellow filled the morning mist, and returned before the earliest of birds could fill the marketplace.
One day as the fisherman packed his net into his dainty vessel; He found himself faced with a large bullfrog. The stubborn bullfrog refused to waiver from the safety of the skiff.
Setting sail, he found himself with more fish than his dreams could fill.
Over delighted the fisherman bowed deeply to the bullfrog. His smile reached from ear to ear. He could hardly wait to share his news.
He rushed home from the marketplace to show the bullfrog to his beautiful wife. She said this bullfrog needs fresh water, and a feast fit for the gods.
The last rights of man.
Dreams imagined with greatness.
All hope for true peace.
A shout came from the path. Tears dripped from the young boy’s face. His words struck the fisherman’s heart. His wife stood pierced, then dissolved into tears.
The wife turned on the bullfrog. It’s fortune dripped malady into their hearts. The fisherman’s knees touched the floor.
