Reno, NV-With two recent grand openings of The Mill and RAWBRY, local Juice Shops in Reno have been on the rise. People in the local Reno health community can embrace the different options and benefits of juicing.

“We have been around for four years, so it’s nice to see Reno joining the health bandwagon,” said Adam Castleman, owner of jüs.
Whether wanting to slim down for a wedding or seeking refreshment after an exercise class, juice shops like jüs sell 17 flavors of cold pressed juice that are good up to five days.
“The raw almond milk in the store is our top seller, People who do not usually like almond milk always end up liking ours, which you can buy as part of the cleanse or on its own,” said Castleman.
According to a report on ABC news, there has been debate whether juice is worth the money or another expensive diet fad. In addition, many juice places sabotage healthy drinks with added sugars and ice cream. These sneaky additives can ruin the health benefits of juice. Contrastingly, local juice shops in Reno harp on the healthiness and freshness of products.

“All of our juices are cold pressed, our smoothies are made with fresh ingredients, and we only use natural yogurt, not ice cream,” said Castleman.
The owner of RAWBRY, a newly opened Reno juice shop, Brianna Bullentini, swears by using only raw ingredients in juices. One bottle of juice from RAWBRY can range from $5 to $10. The freshness and quality of ingredients cause the cost of a juice to be pricey.
The Mill, a newly opened juice shop in the area, uses only organic ingredients. The ingredients bottled into their juices claim to be locally grown in the Reno-Tahoe area as mentioned on their website.
Prices may seem costly, a seven-day juice cleanse from jüs costs $49 per day, but the benefits of juicing are worth it according to a local customer of RAWBRY and kickboxing instructor, Cristine Estep, 22.The main age group of customers is people in their early twenties to late thirties.
“I’m really into health and wellness, so a juice cleanse is a great addition to fit my lifestyle. I was skeptical of any juice cleanses but after completing the process, I felt lighter, more energized, and less bloated,” said Estep.
In addition, Estep thinks that juicing is a great first step for people who are new to the health world. She thinks that drinking a green juice may be easier for someone to consume if they are not used to eating a raw, whole food diet.
“I have a lot of clients that I train who always ask me about what I eat and my diet,” said Estep. “Before juice cleansing and consuming unprocessed foods, I used to always have something wrong with me, like a headache, or a stomach ache. Now, all of my symptoms are gone because I eliminated processed foods and sugars.”
When asked about the demand for juice cleanses, the springtime proves to be the busiest for jüs selling an estimated 300 juice cleanses per month, according to Castleman.
“The process of juicing extracts the vitamins, minerals, and fibers from the fruit or vegetable,” said Castleman.
Providing customers with products that are built on the healthiest ingredients helps build a promising future for the juice shops in Reno.
