Ladakh can be the dream bike riding destination in India. Blessed with such mesmerizing beauty this region of Jammu & Kashmir state is a challenge that any crazy-adventurous bike rider would like to take.

If you are Bike lover then Ladakh is Heaven For You. Ladakh is dream for many. But If You are thinking of going to Ladakh then you should know some things.

So here we are discussing on this.

  • Best traveling period:

For Traveling every season is a good but if we choose best then there is more fun and less irritation.

Ladakh is a place which change colors in every 2 Months. Rivers, valley, mountains, snow, each part of ladakh is mesmerize.

For going to Ladakh May To July is Best period. And if you start your vacation in Last week of May then that’s absolutely great time. In this time period you can see snowfall and mostly clean weather.

August is a monsoon season in India. So in this time you might get problems during your ride.

In September, Ladakh Festival Organize in Ladakh. If you are photography lover then you shouldn’t miss this festival.

  • Best Route :

Manali – Rohtang La – Tandi/Keylong – Darcha – Sarchu – Tanglang La – Upshi – Leh (from Leh one can take separate routes to Khardungla and Nubra, Pangong and Tso Moriri and Hemis) – Lamayuru – Kargil – Drass – Zozi La – - Srinagar – Patnitop – Chandigarh

  • Travel Company:

Solo trip to Ladakh is good but if you are going with someone you like then there is more fun. Go in the pair instead of going alone. Because Himalaya is little risky place. And logically go with someone is better then go Alone.

And if you don’t have any friends who is ready to go with you then “Invincible” is always there for you.

  • Documents :

Government Id’s, Passport size photos is unforgettable things to carry in any trip.

  • First aid kit :

Dettol/savlon, bandage, pain relief spray/painkiller, cotton, etc. First aid kit are the

OXY99 is oxygen spray which helps you to breath at light oxygen areas in Ladakh.

You should carry camphor with you because camphor is helps you in breathing.

  • Cash :

When we are go for outing we prefer credit/debit cards instead of cash. But According to me before go to ladakh you should carry enough cash. No doubt you can see 24/7 ATMs there but sometimes there is no cash. So here I suggest you to carry panty of cash with you.

  • Warm Clothes :

Ladakh is cold place. It’s worth it to pack a warm sweater and pants for Ladakh’s cooler roads.

And if you are bike rider then ‘Riding Gear’ is highly recommend.

  • BSNL Sim Card :

BSNL is only network which is available at Ladakh. So you have to buy BSNL sim card.

  • Sunscreen/Vaseline :

If you want to come as you gone then you should carry Sunscreen with you. It protects you from sun tan.

Ladakh is a cold place so if you want soft skin then Vaseline helps you.

  • Mental Preparation :

We are always physically ready for outing. But sometimes we are physically at that place but mentally not. Unknowingly we are carry our life issues. That’s why we exactly not happy/excited.

So main thing we should forget before going to anywhere is tension. Take your trip as dream come true.

Best place in Ladakh

Ladakh has it’s own beauty. Every part of Ladakh is mesmerize. But there is some places which is best.

  • Khardungla Pass

Khardungla pass is Highest Motorable Road In India. Khardungla pass’s hight is 18380 feet. This is also way of Nubra Valley.

  • TSO Moriri :

TSO Moriri is a lake near Ladakh. Here paragliding is available. This is one of the best lake near Ladakh.

  • Zanskar River :

Zanskar River is a place where 2 rivers combined. We can say this ‘Sangam’. 2 different colors of water mix into each other. This is really awesome place.

  • Pangong Lake :

This is Ladakh’s famous lake. Pangong Lake has it’s own beauty. This is different from any other lake. Clean Water, weather, mountain make this place beautiful.

The main and unic thing about this lake is their color changing nature.Yes, you read it correct the nature and water change it’s color after every two months.

Food Corner

  • Chutagi :

One of the most famous and signature dishes of Ladakh is the Chutagi( dumpling soup). It is made of flour into a bow- tie shaped dumpling with soup consisting of potatoes, carrots and spinach.

  • Skew :

Another dumpling soup made in the same way as the Chutagi but shaped like really tiny thumb sized chapatis. The soup is delicious with the essence of all the different vegetables that are put into it. Doesn’t that sku look delicious?

  • Gur Gur Cha/ Butter Tea/ Tsaza

Gur Gur is the name of the instrument in which the tea is made. After churning the curd/ yogurt the butter that is left is used to make this tea. It is not sweet but delicious in the cold weather. The ingredients used to make this tea are butter, milk and tea powder, all of this is then put into the shaker (Gur Gur) and the tea is made. In English it is called Butter Tea and in Tibetan it is called Tsaza.

  • Momo :

Momo is very famous Tibetan dish. It is a dumpling with different stuffings in them depending on whether it is Vegetarian or Non- Vegetarian. The dumplings are of different shapes. It is eaten with a kind of spicy chutney but can also be eaten alongside ketchup for those of you who don’t really like much spice.

  • Thukpa :

Thukpa which is just noodle soup is also a Tibetan dish that is made is Ladakh. The flour is kneaded, the broth is cooked containing onion, tomato, garlic and other vegetables if veg and beef/ mutton if non-veg once it looks a little cooked the flour is rolled into thin strings and dropped into the boiling broth.

That is very famous in the area of Ladakh.
