Awesome, unlike you, I am an alcoholic. So in order to stop I had to be locked up, more then once, in order to stop. And I have to “work” on staying sober.

But the point I try to make to my non-alcoholic friends who still drink is the one you made — there is no downside to stopping drinking. None at all.

Alcohol is a known depressant, probably carcinogen and it messes up your sleep. There is no redeeming quality to ingesting ethyl alcohol at all. Those antioxidants that might be in a glass of red wine one can get from a handful of blueberries over pancakes.
