I like a lot of stuff that you write about but your obsession with the US pursuing “oil interests” is simply not factual. That may have been the case 10 years ago but US oil situation has changed dramatically since.

It is simply not the case that the US did anything “to” Venezuela because of oil company interests or that it is in Afghanistan because of oil.

The simple fact is that US domestic oil production has doubled since 2000 and when it comes to natural gas, the US was getting ready to build LNG Import terminals and those have in recent years been converting to Export terminals.

Oil is not longer a strategic asset for the United States and it does not need to secure its supply from outside of North America (Canada has massive reserves as well).

If you are stuck in the Kuwait invasion paradigm, you are just going to be drawing wrong conclusions.
