Maddie’s Biggest Decision
It could be argued that in this day and age, college can be the biggest decision of a teenager’s life. Whether it’s the choice of major or choice of school, there is a lot of pressure on the young student looking to further their academic journey. For Maddie Cidlik, her decision lead her to The Ohio State University after graduating in 2016 from Columbia High school. Shortly after arrival on campus, Maddie realized her ideal school may not have been the one of her dreams. With factors including being homesick and feeling lonely, Maddie had the choice to either wait out the school year to see if she liked it, or listen to her heart. Needless to say, she chose the latter.
It’s a rare occasion for freshmen to transfer out after their first semester and in doing so it takes a leap. A decision of this caliber was based off of a feeling so strong that Maddie knew that she had to leave as soon as she had the opportunity. Maddie realized it was best to listen to herself and welcomed change rather than steering away and prolonging it. Currently a student at Montclair State University, she transferred in to a school that was best for supporting her goals and reality.
