REMEDIES PHARMACIES Travel Guide
With Santa Maria around the corner and many offices shutting down for the week, it comes as no surprise that many Maltese pack their bags and head off for a summer holiday.

Whether it’s a short break from the office, a girls’ weekend in Sicily or a family trip to Disneyland — Amanda from REMEDIES Birkirkara has prepared our top tips for keeping good health throughout your travels.
Party hard, rest harder
Everyone loves making the most of their holiday — why stay in and rest when you could be discovering a new attraction or exploring hidden coffee shops in the city?
The reality is that if you do not want to get ill, getting enough rest is absolutely essential. Take as much down time to rest as you do out and about exploring, to avoid fatigue — it may seem like a waste of time, but you will also be more charged up to enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Stretch, stretch, stretch!
One of the best ways to enjoy a holiday is to walk around, absorbing all the sights there are to see and discovering new areas in the City. This usually translates to a lot of walking. Especially if you aren’t used to such exertion, make sure to start the day by stretching your muscles!

Stay safe in the sun
Last month, Josephine shared her tips on staying safe in the sun. If you’re planning a beach-side holiday, remember to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated — and to avoid long exposure to the sun’s rays. It is recommended to carry around Oral Rehydration Salts and to wear sunblock of at least SPF 30+.

Fuel up
Make sure you eat a healthy, balanced breakfast to kick-start the day. If you’re planning a city adventure, why not carry some fresh fruit to snack on between meals? Keep your energy levels up by eating smaller amounts of healthy food throughout the day to get the nutritional boost you need.

Take a digital detox
Mental health is just as essential as physical health. Take a digital detox and get off Facebook, Instagram and your emails. Yes, it is lovely to share photos of your adventures, but this shouldn’t come at the expense of enjoying your holiday as much as possible. Taking some down-time will do you a world of good.

However you’re planning on spending your holidays, make sure you stay safe and healthy so that you can come home energised and refreshed!
