My Late Skin Care Review!

Okay so, this post is very long overdue, but life got in the way and now I’m just getting to the point where I can tell you about my skin, the products used and how they worked.

The products were: the Freeman’s Beauty Dark Charcoal sugar scrub and their new Hemp gel mask. Also theOrdinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The last product was just a moisturizer which I happen to love which is the CeraVe moisturizer and sunscreen all-in-one.

My Skin Type:

I’ve always had a combination skin type. It’s always been very very oily and also dry. Growing up was the worst because my acne used to be terrible and I mean terrible. I’ve really come a long way with my skin care regimen because I was one of those people who swore by and LOVED the St. Ives scrub and even worse, the damn Neutrogena grapefruit scrub with the beads. Oh the horror!! But like please don’t judge me because all the girls were using these products back then because they were labeled as the best. It just goes to show you the times are changing. So back on topic. My skin. Again, Back in the day, I wasn’t cultured enough to know what was good to use on my skin or what wasn’t and I just was trying so many different things. Puberty was and still is such a weird time in your life. You just don’t wanna look like a crunch bar!! My skin is so sensitive. So sensitive to the point that Mario Badescu rose water spray does not work for me, I had some skin reaction and my face burned completely! Not discrediting the product because I love his other products, my skin just did not react well to the ingredients in that spray! I also tried proactive back in the day. Shout out Jessica Simpson! That was a dud as well because…. I’m allergic to Sulfur and that was an ingredient in Proactive. honestly at that point, a girl was just using soap and damn water to wash my face. It was like this until I literally started using Freeman beauty products as a sophomore in college because I saw it in a friends bathroom.

I loveeeeee Freeman Beauty. I love them. I love almost every mask I’ve tried. It’s actually an obsession. However, I know I’ve been talking about a lot of products up here but we all know our skin is a reflection of what we allow in and out of our body. I won’t be the one to get up here and preach to you guys about what to eat but I will say when you make small tweak to your diet here and there not only do you feel better but your skin will be thanking you and will definitely show that as a result!

Charcoal Black Sugar Scrub: This is my go to, every other day kinda scrub. If I forget to pack a face mask or something when I’m traveling, I immediately head to the nearest target or Walmart to pick up this particular scrub. I love it because it really digs deep into your pores for a deep clean. I think of how in our work environments we’re always in other peoples faces and we’re interacting with different people in different environments and this scrub just makes me feel clean. I use the scrub everyday once a day. For the normal person I’d say use it every other day because it’s very abrasive. It has the sugar crystals in them and it’s just like the name it’s a scrub. To some it may be way too harsh, but To me using this daily keeps the oil in my skin under control! 10/10 would recommend.

Freeman’s Hemp Gel Mask: This is one of their newest products. I have to say I didn’t really notice a difference In my skin with this product until I kept up my skin routine and used it more frequently. This product is for brightening and leveling out the skin and tone. I think that this paired with the sugar scrub was one of the best pairings I’ve used so far. Before I used to try to use the sugar scrub with their lemon mint scrub and I found that to be wayyyy to harsh for my skin and caused irritation, extreme dryness and burning. So it was like a, I had to choose one or the other. (Y’all know what Eye chose). This gel mask is very light and refreshing. I still don’t know the purpose of the hemp but it makes me feel calm when I use it and fresh. 7.3/10 would recommend.

TheOrdinary Hyaluronic Acid: I am totally new at this skin stuff and figuring out what’s good for me and what’s not…lol I went into Ulta and told them my skin issues and this is what I was instructed to start with. It’s said to help with blemishes and creates brightness and I have to say, it’s doing what it needs to do. I think this product is very good, but it only works with the power of other products if that makes sense. I’ve only seen the best results when I go through my entire skin care routine. If I just use this product as a stand alone I don’t notice anything big like I do when I do the whole thing. I really like this though. My most noticeable black spots have lightened and even the slight discoloration I’ve had through my face has evened as well! 9/10 recommend.

CeraVe: this is the shit and it’s clinically proven. I have no more to say. 12/10. The world recommends.

This is just the beginning of me and my skin care journey, but I just wanted to share this with you guys because literally my skin has come such a long way and I feel like there are others out there just like me. It just takes a lot of trial and error and learning YOUR skin and what works for you and not the masses.
