Bonjour.
Most people know me as a girl who loves laughter and school and that is completely true. As for some additional background information, I am a Bull City native, which means I call the 919 my hometown. However, I have been living in the Queen City for almost 6 years. I graduated from college 2 years ago with a major in English and a minor in secondary education. I dedicated my heart and soul to high school education before I realized my passion was in the clouds, literally. Currently I am a student pursuing a degree in Meteorology and Computer Science with the hopes of becoming a contributing member to the National Weather Service, or a similar organization.
So why do I blog? As most 20-something millennials feel right now, I am trapped between school debt, the decrease in social security, the rise of social media and confusion. My love of words has given me a talent of expression and part of my generational views means I want everyone to feel included. So my blog will be about my mind, body and soul.
Mind: This section will be dedicated to my thoughts of the day. It will articulate my findings and how the world around me is affecting my mental development.
Body: Like many people my age, especially “retired” high school athletes, college and young adulthood have not been anything less than stress eating, high stress and exhaustion. I will be committing myself to a food and exercise diary. Also I will share the serious issues about health that we do not like to address like late night snacking of cream cheese mixed with butter on bread… and wine.
Soul: Growing up God had a large presence in my life. However, around the age of 16 God and I stopped talking. We only spoke in the wee hours of the morning when I was in need of guidance because of my typical rebellious teenage behavior. Then when I was around 21 years old I went through a serious crisis. I lost who I was. Slowly I crawled back to my relationship with God and it became one of the best feelings in my life. I have not found a church yet but my spirit overflows with love for the Creator.
I hope you enjoy my journey and adventure.
PS: I’m trying to stay consistent.
