Not to mention that drone fighters have numerous other advantages over manned fighters, including:

  1. No risk of personnel losses or POWs, which allows much riskier missions than would be acceptable otherwise;
  2. No biological limitations on maneuvering (e.g. manned fighters can’t turn too quickly or risk the pilot blacking out, but drones have no such problems);
  3. Possibility of using them as “kamikazes” if the situation calls for it (special case of point 1, now that I think of it).
