It’s astounding to think that the world has changed to become more conservative in times past, than before it.

Think about ancient Greece and Rome that preceded the explosion of puritanism in the mid-second millennium.

History proves that humanity can create new religions that have not been here before. New rules, new conservatisms, new fears. New sins.

That’s powerful.

What does that mean for the future of our world?

We think the world only goes in one direction — less conservative, less puritanical, more free. But Christianity’s rise proves that wrong.

We have to hold up with our hands what we want to world to be — or others who care more than you will mount new shames to shout through their megaphones.

The world will become whatever you don’t speak against.

If it’s political correctness, then that’s what will happen. If it’s ‘protect the children’-ism hysteria fueled by the media, then that’s what will happen. If it’s something that I like, but you don’t — it will happen.

I encourage you to speak up for what you believe in, even if you are my friend and you are opposed to me. ESPECIALLY if you are my friend, because conversation is how it happens.

By staying silent you will be buffeted by the voices of those around you, and their shame and social violence will only oppress and overrun you.

SPEAK OUT about what you’re unsatisfied with — or slither back into your hole.
