MindlessUdo, was born on 14 August 1996, is a poet, short story writer, artist, and philosopher. He lives a mostly introverted and somewhat reclusive life. Thought of as eccentric by the locals, he became known for his usual gloomy interpretation of life. His literary and artistic works explore human psychology in the troubled political, social and spiritual atmosphere of our current time, and engage with a variety of philosophical and religious themes.
He began poetry and art when he was 14 years of age, and his first piece of work, The Lost Farmer, was published in his school library when he was 15 years old. Udo’s oeuvre consists of 2 novels, 18 short stories, 150+ poems, 10+ art collections, and numerous other works. Although, a canon of his works is still unpublished due to personal reasons.
Udo was introduced to literature and arts at an early age through fairy tales, legends, and history books. His father died in 2010 when he was 14, and around the same time, he was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. The loss of his father impacted his poetry and art. His works and interpretation of life became grim and gloomy. Although not one that was entirely dependent on, his poetry and art always would entail a theme about the subject.
Udo perceives his installations as unfinished inventories of fragments: paintings, drawings, objects, 2D/3D art, photographs, and AI Collaboration Art. They are random and improvisational sites that the constructed is used to provoke thought and question, our world design through our perception and language. His arrangement is schematic, luring the viewer to wonder and speculate within the given space. He relies on his desire for beauty, poetics, and seduction. His installations thus far are used to frame the steps of modernity and point stereotypes of difference, which are hidden in plain sight.
Udo has found his bearing in surrealism and minimalism to be paramount in rearranging received ideas. The objects he makes are placed in the canon of modernity and touching capes of classical inventories, in hope of illuminating what is overlooked in the historicizing of the artist. His installations have always been grounded in pleasure, play, illumination, despondent satires, and aesthetics.
