Appreciation: Why it is so Powerful

All of you have heard about the attitude of gratitude. There has been so much written on the topic, from books just on gratitude to entire day courses on gratitude. Even esoteric, religious and spiritual groupings speak extensively on appreciation and gratitude. You have probably even heard about how the law of attraction works with gratitude. You probably even know that when you are in a state of gratitude and appreciation, the universe will deliver more and more to you because it wants or likes that state of being and wants you to stay in that state. The list goes on about the thoughts and beliefs about appreciation and gratitude.
Let us take a more practical and simple approach here to understanding appreciation and gratitude. Sometimes when you have too much information or different forms of practices on the same topic such as gratitude, it can cause confusion on the subconscious mind, leaving one feeling overwhelmed. This then leads to one not practicing the techniques properly or feeling as if they are not manifesting correctly, feeling as if they are not able to achieve their goals despite having lots of gratitude and so on.
In order to have a better understanding of appreciation and gratitude, you first have to understand that there are three very powerful ways in which you attract what you want. We as human beings are creative by nature and therefore creating the life we want is part of our natural creation. You have all heard the phrase that you are the master of your destiny; nothing can be further from the truth. So how do we really get the law of attraction to work in our favour?
In truth, creating the life you truly want is much simpler than you think. However it is all the conditioning and programming that goes on in your life from the time you were born until adulthood that has complicated things and made it difficult to even believe how easy it is to get what you want.
The first step is to understand the three forms within you that trigger the law of attraction. However if there is even the slightest doubt, you will most likely attract the opposite of what you really wanted.
The third most powerful way in which you attract is in your language and thoughts.
Your words describe your thoughts. A single word can be positive or negative on your subconscious level and thus be the trigger to creation or repulsion of what you really want. The context in which you create your sentences also triggers what you attract. The thoughts that are dominant in your mind throughout the day will play a role in what you attract into your life. Combined with your language is emotion. The biggest trigger of the law of attraction is what you are feeling in each given moment. The way you feel can attract what you are wanting or not wanting because it does not distinguish between want or not wanting. We will look into this in future articles.
The second most powerful way to attract what you want is meditation.
It is important to understand that even with meditation, your words, thoughts and emotions plays a role in whether you attract what you want or not. When I speak of meditation here, I am not talking about any form of spiritual, religious or esoteric form of meditation but the form of meditation necessary to access the true power of your mind. At The Academy of Mind Power we talk about meditations for accessing that higher state of mind, where you can transform your habits and behaviours from a negative way of being into a practical way of achieving your goals. The most powerful form of getting to the place of creating what you want is appreciation.
Why is appreciation so powerful? The power does not lie in those feelings of gratitude, although they do play an important role in the law of attraction.
When one feels appreciative there is another emotion that is triggered in that moment, it is the emotion of satisfaction. When one feels satisfied, they reduce resistance or doubt and get to a place where it becomes easier to create what you want.
How many times have you been told to accept yourself as you are? How many times have you been told to accept your situation for what it is? When you get to that place of acceptance, you start to feel satisfied. It is in this place of satisfaction where you go to what we call a place of nothingness. When you get to that place of nothingness, from nothing you can create anything.
When you can be satisfied with where you are now, you will find great enjoyment in the journey of getting to where you want to be, in turn you will be satisfied in what you choose to create, allowing you to create much more than what you originally imagined to be possible.
As a life coach, the first thing I do with my clients is use something called word emotion therapy, where I guide the individual to that place of satisfaction through appreciation. Once they get to that place of satisfaction, they are very easily able to let go of the past, focus on the here and now, while having a better knowing of what they really want. From this place of knowing it becomes very easy for these individuals to create habits and behaviours that help them to achieve their goals in a much easier and faster way. I also notice that they have better structures in the goals with a simpler and easier way of getting to the point they want to be at.
In truth, it is going back to simplicity that makes things much easier to achieve. Therefore it is not necessary to complicate gratitude with so many rituals and practices. The easiest and most powerful way is to just feel appreciation of something and get in touch with that emotion of satisfaction that will transform your life in ways you could not even imagine.
