Dispelling the Myth of Meditation

The moment the word meditation is mentioned; most people’s minds immediately go to thoughts that are religious, spiritual or esoteric in nature. People run away from meditation because of the connotation it has associated with it. It is hard to escape those connotations as many religions, spiritual groups, esoteric or cultural groups use meditation in their fundamental practices.

After having studied many different forms of meditation from religious to mystism and more, I came to one conclusion. The word meditation can only mean one thing. Meditation really means being in a relaxed state with the mind clear and nothing more. It is what you choose to focus on during meditation that brings about the results of what you’re true intentions are.

Meditation is used in martial arts for better focus and stability. It is used in religion or spiritual groups for a better connection to a higher being. However it is the relaxed state, clear mind and breathing that leads to the intention being achieved. If there was a better word that could describe being in a relaxed state with the mind clear, I would probably use that word to avoid the connotations associated with meditation.

The truth is that it all depends on what your intentions are and what you choose to focus on that brings the outcomes during the meditation. To achieve a higher state of mind, there is nothing better than meditation. To access the true power of your mind, once again meditation is the most powerful way to achieve that.

Meditation can be used to achieve your goals, bringing you closer to achieving your dreams and desires and achieving higher success in your performance.

At the Academy of Mind Power we use meditation for overcoming procrastination and creating behaviours that help you take more inspired action in achieving your goals and dreams. We also use meditation for higher performance in sports and the performance arts. Meditation is also used for overcoming stage and performance anxiety.

There are many uses for meditation and the best part of it is that you get to tap into the most powerful areas of your mind. Through meditation you access your unconscious or subconscious mind to modify behaviours and habits that will help you achieve so much more in your life.

The benefits of meditation is not only to achieve higher performance but helps you become more calm during the day, allowing you to quickly find solutions to problems, overcome conflict situations at a faster rate, feel more healthy and the best part of all, you gain full control of your emotions that make you a person who responds rather than reacts.

In short, meditation is a great access point to your most powerful mind.
