While I agree that gutting the FDA is a horrible idea, your use of Heinz doesn’t exactly make your case. The way you describe it, Heinz produced a safer product, and now owns 60% of the market share. Heinz also lobbied for regulations, to force other companies out of the market. So basically, Heinz proves that 1) you don’t need government to regulate food, because the cleaner alternative will “naturally” win, and 2) government regulation limits competition. So is your intent to show that the Libertarians are right?
