Wow, you use your personal limited experience as one uses an unwieldy club. You just proved one of the author’s points that until you personally know someone who is affected by something, you don’t feel any empathy for them.
One of my friends is a career Meals On Wheels employee. My mom is a faithful Christian and served for years as a Meals On Wheels volunteer, as do others in our church. My last HR representative at work did a lot of volunteer work with Meals On Wheels. They could tell you many stories of people helped by the program.
