3 steps to set up ASIC Hub

minerstat offers software for all kinds of mining farms. We have already shown you how to set up mining OS, Windows mining, and now, we will show you how to set up ASIC Hub. ASIC Hub is a software that is installed directly on the ASIC and communicates directly with the minerstat dashboard. If you have an ASIC that doesn’t support SSH connection, we suggest to check out ASIC Hub (Non-SSH).

✏️ What do you need?

To set up the ASIC Hub you will need to prepare three things:

🕑 Setting up the ASIC Hub will take up to 5 minutes (including the download time).

1️⃣ Step 1: Add a new worker

First, you need to add a new worker to your minerstat dashboard.

  • Navigate to workers page.
  • Click Add new worker.
  • Type worker’s name.
  • Select the type of your worker - in this case, it is ASIC.
  • Select the system of your worker - in this case, it can be Antminer, Baikal, Spondoolies, Dayun, Innosilicon, HyperBit.
  • Type in your local IP.
  • Change username and password only if you have changed the default settings on your ASIC. Please note that SSH username/password is not the same as the login to the web dashboard.
  • Optionally add additional groups.
  • Click Add worker.

2️⃣ Step 2: Install PuTTY

To set up the ASIC Hub you will need to have a secure shell (SSH) access to your ASIC. Like mentioned above, the SSH access is not the same as web access and also doesn’t use the same default username/password. To establish SSH access you will need special software that allows it - one such free software for Windows is PuTTY.

  1. Download PuTTY and run it.
  2. Enter your ASIC’s IP address, leave the port on 22, and click Open.
  3. Enter your SSH username.
  4. Enter your SSH password.

If your SSH username and password are not correct, you will somehow need to find what are the correct credentials for your ASIC. Try Googling your ASIC name type along with “SSH login” (for example “Antminer Z9 SSH login”). Also, don’t forget that you need to use the same SSH username/password for the worker you have added at minerstat and that SSH username/password is not the same as username/password for your web login.

3️⃣ Step 3: Install ASIC Hub

When you are successfully logged in through the SSH, you need to enter the following command to install ASIC Hub on your ASIC. For Antminer, Innosilicon, Dayun, or HyperBit use:

cd /tmp && wget -O install.sh http://static.minerstat.farm/github/install.sh && chmod 777 *.sh && sh install.sh ACCESS_KEY WORKER_NAME

For Baikal use:

sudo su
cd /tmp && wget -O install.sh http://static.minerstat.farm/github/install.sh && chmod 777 *.sh && sh install.sh ACCESS_KEY WORKER_NAME

For Spondoolies use:

cd /tmp && curl --insecure -H 'Cache-Control: no-cache' -O -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/minerstat/minerstat-asic-hub/master/install.sh && chmod 777 *.sh && sh install.sh ACCESS_KEY WORKER_NAME

ACCESS_KEY needs to be replaced with your minerstat’s access key. You can find it by hovering your mouse over your avatar in the top right corner on your minerstat dashboard.

WORKER_NAME needs to be replaced with your worker’s name.

Please make sure to double check everything as the access key and worker’s name are both case-sensitive.

When you press enter the script for loading ASIC Hub to your ASIC will be run and after it has successfully finished you will see the output DONE.

Within a few minutes, you should see your ASIC online, the configuration will be loaded from the ASIC to the minerstat dashboard and your worker will be successfully mining. If this is not the case, we suggest you check your firmware and make sure that you are using official firmware on your ASIC. After you have upgraded the firmware, you will need to repeat the procedure.

🔧 Troubleshooting

Be sure that you have used the correct access key and the correct worker’s name as they are case-sensitive. Other ASIC-related things that are worth checking out are if you have defined correct local IP when you created new worker and that you have used correct SSH username/password.

You can check these values by clicking Edit icon (pencil) on your worker's list.
