We were a little quieter in the past two months than usual and now you will learn why. We have started actively working on an idea that was born quite a while ago and because of the super stability of the minerstat software, the time to bring it to life has finally come.
Stratu.ms will work independently of minerstat, but it is operated by the same company and team. It is a service that can work alongside minerstat software and services or outside of it as it won’t limit you in any way. It utilizes all the knowledge and data gathered in minerstat to improve your mining operation even more.
About Stratu.ms
In short, Stratu.ms is a hashrate proxy service that empowers you to deploy your private stratum server within seconds anywhere in the world. It allows you to control your hashrate more efficiently and privately.
Currently, there are two different types of stratum servers you can deploy.
Mask stratum
With mask stratum, you can redirect your hashrate to the pool of your choosing and define two additional backup pools. Mask is most useful when your farm is far away from the pool you want to use for mining and you want to improve the connection and share delivery rate.
Switch stratum
With switch stratum, you can define different coins between which you want to switch (all within the same algorithm) and stratum will redirect your hashrate to the pool with the coin that is the most profitable at the time. Because switching is done on the server-side, the Switch stratum will be most useful for owners of ASICs machines and larger rigs that require more time to boot up or restart.
Locations
You can currently deploy stratum in 8 different locations: Canada, Germany, India, Netherlands, Singapore, United Kingdom, USA West, and USA East. We will add more locations on the go, depending on the wishes and requirements of our customers.
Algorithms
We currently support five algorithms: SHA-256, Ethash, Equihash, Scrypt, and X11. We will add more algorithms on the go, depending on the wishes and requirements of our customers.
Use cases
Here are just a few examples of how can Stratu.ms help you achieve better results.
- By deploying a stratum that is closer to your farm, you will ensure that hashrate is forwarded faster to the pool of your choosing, which will greatly improve your latency. So, for example, if you are from Europe and want to mine on a Chinese pool, Stratu.ms will improve this connection for you.
- You can define backup pools, so you will never spend time on the pools that aren’t working.
- You can switch between different coins without any machine downtime and between any pools you like - even NiceHash, Mining Pool Hub, or any other multipool. Since the switch will happen on the stratum, the machine won’t get rebooted or restarted and no configuration on the machine will be changed or modified.
- Your mining manager won’t see the pool you are mining to and your pool won’t see from which IP the hashrate came, which will ensure anonymity and privacy.
- Option to lower the fees and offer dedicated locations and IPs for customers with more hashrate.
