GPU BIOS flasher is one of those features that was requested the most for msOS. While we support BIOS flashing of both Nvidia and AMD GPUs through the console, we have now decided to simplify this procedure and bring the tool to the dashboard as well. We will start with AMD cards and extend the tool to Nvidia at a later stage. The tool is supported by AMD ATIFlash for Polaris cards and AMDVbFlash for Vega and Navi cards.

⚠️ Disclaimer: This is an advanced tool that changes your GPU BIOS settings and it is meant only for experienced users. …

Another great new free feature on Stratu.ms dashboard is the dashboard customization. Our goal was to create a unique white-label feature, which will be free for all of our Stratu.ms customers and will give you the ability to brand stratums to fit your business. On the other hand, it also introduced a dark mode of the Stratu.ms dashboard.

You can access this page by clicking on your avatar and selecting themes.

Color mode

Each of the three main elements of the dashboard can be toggled between light and dark mode: header, body, and footer. …

When will the fork happen?

At block height #11,700,000, which is expected to happen around 28th November 2020, Ethereum Classic will fork from Ethash to Etchash. The fork is called Thanos (or ECIP-1099) and will halve the size and growth rate of the DAG file. This means that even 3GB and 4GB cards will still be able to mine ETC. To learn more about the DAG file visit our DAG size calculator.

Which mining clients support Etchash?

We will update all mining clients that will support the upcoming Etchash algorithm. Here is a list of mining clients that are currently available on our systems. …

It is this period of Ethash mining when everyone is again talking about DAG size and what to mine with 4GB GPUs? The DAG sizes of two major Ethash coins - ETH and ETC - are slowly approaching 4GB, which means that 4GB GPUs won’t be able to mine them anymore.

In one of our previous articles, we have explained the situation in detail and also show how to prolong this even for a few weeks and how you can find other coins to mine. In this article, we are presenting a new tool - DAG size calculator and calendar for Ethash coins. …

We have recently introduced a new msOS update which greatly improves the connection from your rig to the many popular pools. Since we thought this update could be useful to miners using other operating systems, Linux or Windows, we decided to create a new collection that is available to anyone for free. It is called mining pools’ DNS records - we also call it mining pools whitelist. The list is regularly updated and maintained, but since it is so simple, you can also update it on the go.

What are the mining pools' DNS records?

We have described it as a general free pool whitelist resource for your mining rigs and network/firewall settings. …

We have made several improvements to our Stratu.ms service in the last weeks. On the stratum’s profile, you can now see the worker name that is sent by the machine and the worker name will be sent to the pool. This way, you can quickly see if the stratum is misconfigured or why the pool isn’t accepting the hashrate. To further improve the stratum setup, we have introduced a pool checker tool that will help you see if the shares will be accepted by the pool or not.

How to use Pool checker

You can find a pool checker on your stratum’s profile or by directly visiting the pool checker page. …

With the increasing number of people exploring different mining calculators, more questions rise up. While we already published a guide on how to use a mining calculator like a pro (which you should also read), there are still some other tips and tricks you can use. They will answer the questions a miner should be asking when they are exploring what to mine.

Before we start …

#1 rule of every mining calculator: If the estimated earnings of one coin are very high, there is a greater chance that there is something wrong in calculation or with this coin particular than the chance of actually making that much. …
