玻塑混合鏡頭在Apple與華為採用後,將成為鏡頭產業的新關鍵趨勢 / The glass-plastic hybrid lens will become a new key trend in the lens industry after the adoption of Apple and Huawei

  1. 大立光與舜宇光學為玻塑混合鏡頭領導廠商。從大量出貨經驗與既有塑膠鏡頭優勢看,大立光目前的優勢又高於舜宇光學。
  2. 華為將採用的1G6P鏡頭在打樣階段的單價約12美元,受益於良率改善故量產後降至6–7美元。
  3. 華為將採用的1吋CIS為Sony的IMX989。採用高規1G6P鏡頭除了生產成本因良率提升而改善外,關鍵在於能更充分發揮IMX989的技術優勢。
  4. 8P鏡頭雖然成本較1G6P低,但1G6P因採用玻璃故勝在鏡頭高度較低與光學效能較佳。此外,玻塑混合鏡頭的抗形變能力亦較強 (此為iPhone 15 Pro Max採用的主因之一)。
  5. 大立光與舜宇光學目前均能自製玻璃鏡片,此整合優勢有利提高設計精確度、生產良率與利潤。雖然許多投資人期待大立光與舜宇光學外購玻璃鏡片創造的其他股票投資機會,但自製玻璃鏡片才有利品牌大量採用。
  6. 從iPhone 15 Pro Max與P70 Art採用玻塑混合鏡頭,可以歸納出鏡頭產業的新關鍵趨勢,包括:1) 玻塑混合鏡頭採用模造或球面玻璃,而非效能較差的晶圓級玻璃 (Wafer-level glass;WLG)、2) 8P鏡頭將面對來自1G6P的競爭。1G6P的優勢在於高度較矮,且與8P生產成本差距逐漸改善、3) 若因相機模組設計而導致鏡頭有形變疑慮時,玻塑混合鏡頭為更適合的方式、與 4) Apple與華為採用玻塑混合鏡頭後,其他品牌高階機種未來可能會跟進。
  7. iPhone 15 Pro Max的四重反射稜鏡相機採用的鏡頭為大立光獨家供應的1G3P鏡頭,該球面玻璃鏡片為外購。若大立光的玻璃鏡片生產能力在未來能達到Apple要求,則iPhone最快將在2025或2026年改採用大立光的玻璃鏡片。
  1. Largan and Sunny Optical are the leading manufacturers of glass-plastic hybrid lenses. Due to Largan’s more extensive production experience and its existing advantages in plastic lenses, Largan currently has a higher advantage over Sunny Optical.
  2. The 1G6P lens that Huawei will use, which costs about US$12 at the prototype stage, will be reduced to US$6–7 in mass production due to improved yield rates.
  3. The 1-inch CIS that Huawei will use is Sony’s IMX989. In addition to improving production costs by increasing yield, the key to using high-standard 1G6P lenses is to utilize the technical advantages of IMX989 fully.
  4. Although the cost of the 8P lens is lower than that of the 1G6P, the 1G6P has the advantage of lower lens height and better optical performance due to the use of glass. In addition, glass-plastic hybrid lenses are more deformation-resistant (a key reason for their use in the iPhone 15 Pro Max).
  5. Largan and Sunny Optical can produce in-house glass lens, an integration advantage that benefits design precision, production yield, and profits. While many investors look forward to the investment opportunities in other stocks created by Largan and Sunny Optical outsourcing glass lens, in-house production is more beneficial for widespread brand adoption.
  6. The use of glass-plastic hybrid lenses in the iPhone 15 Pro Max and P70 Art indicates new critical trends in the lens industry, including 1) The use of molding/spherical glass in glass-plastic hybrid lenses instead of the lower performance wafer-level glass (WLG), 2) 8P lenses facing competition from 1G6P, with the latter’s advantages in lower height and gradually improving cost difference compared to 8P, 3) The glass-plastic hybrid lens as a better solution to solve lens deformation caused by CCM design, and 4) After Apple and Huawei’s use of glass-plastic hybrid lenses, other brands’ high-end models are likely to follow suit in the future.
  7. The tetraprism camera in the iPhone 15 Pro Max uses a 1G3P lens exclusively supplied by Largan, and the spherical glass lens is outsourced. If Largan’s glass lens production capability meets Apple’s requirements in the future, the iPhone could switch to Largan’s glass lens as early as 2025 or 2026.
