Even with Bitcoin’s recent 40 per cent plunge, MicroStrategy Inc.’s Michael Saylor says he will never back down from his multi-billion dollar bet on the world’s largest cryptocurrency.

The corporate softwares company is holding more and more bitcoin, thus making the company’s share price a mirror image of the digital asset. However, the company’s founder and CEO remains optimistic when asked if he would be willing to sell in the face of a potentially ongoing bear market.

Bitcoin has depreciated again, the latest setback for the cryptocurrency in a tough 2022.

The price fell 1.4 per cent in the final hour and was down more than 4 per cent on the final day.

The latest difficulties mean that Bitcoin has lost all the gains it made on Wednesday, when it appeared to bounce back slightly from its recent weak performance.

Bitcoin started 2022 at around $47,000, a far cry from the all-time high of nearly $70,000 set last November.

It has been struggling since the New Year and has hovered around $42,000 in the time since then.

Uruguay installs first cryptocurrency ATM. 15 January — Uruguay has reportedly received the first cryptocurrency ATM on its territory, which has been installed in the city of Punta del Este in the south-east of the country.
This crypto ATM was developed by Urubit and Inbierto, with the former focusing on the software part of the system and the latter providing the hardware for the ATM.
The installed crypto ATM is said to support only five cryptocurrencies (which include two national tokens): ferret token, urubit, BTC, BNB and BUSD.
