BHD, thank you for your response. I’ve mentioned a few time here, while only in comments, that my work is generally published around three to four months after it was written. I write during the experience, I leave it for a while, then I go back to edit and publish it. After that, it can be up to three months before i submit it for publication.
Having said that, generally by the time it is published, I’ve moved passed the pain or in other cases, the joy. The experience is a memory, a life lesson to be learned from and remembered.
This particular time, the time when this piece was written, was a major life change. Something that is at a level only experienced a few times in life. It was my lowest low. I’ve made it out of that darkness. It wasn’t easy, but with prayer, loving support of friends, medication, faith, and meditation, I managed to climb my way out.
Those were some really dark days, filled with anxiety and depression, the lowest of my lows. I knew that the light at the end of the tunnel was there, but I couldn’t see it either.
