Excellent article, but there’s one problem with your approach. Namely, while racism requires a prejudice in order to exist, one can have a prejudice without it having a racial component.
I can decide, without ever trying it, that I detest cauliflower. That is a prejudice (a preconceived opinion without basis in experience or fact).
Racism is racism, a specific prejudice against someone based on your perception of their race. Systemic racism is racism on steroids. It institutionalizes racism. The inability to acknowledge that both are racism is just as harmful as an inability to acknowledge that systemic racism exists and must be defeated and eliminated.
I’m a misanthrope-to me, you’re all human beings and I distrust all y’all. ;)
