Staring into the harsh blue light of the computer screen. Trying to finish the assignment. Trying to read the reading. Trying to lesson plan. Must. Get. Masters. Must. Make. More. Money. Will have another mouth to feed.

Reading the same words over and over and over and over. They’re just letters arbitrarily laid out virtually. They don’t mean anything. Can’t. Concentrate. The girls are jumping on the bed again. They don’t know yet. Must. Tell. Them.

Ti! Be! Stop jumping on the bed! Come here! They’ve suddenly stopped. Their thundering feet pummeling over.
