This is a wonderfully written response. I’m reaching out right now to the local BLM chapter — and I really wonder if there is a way for organizations that represent Asian communities and Black communities to work together better, because I am aware of what you’re saying, that often Asian businesses serve mostly minority communities but except for a few, also hold those communities at arms’ length and at times treat their customers poorly. I think if there were more efforts made to actually embrace those communities, EVERYONE would be better for it. And, to me, there is a lot Asian immigrant communities can actually relate to — there’s just no effort being put there to try to build that empathy.
