We were there to make substantive points about a newly proposed regulation that was written without our input, with disregard for our actual safety, and in opposition to the views of doctors and epidemiologists from institutions like the CDC and Emory University.

A proposed law for the “protection” of women’s bodies that doesn’t actually serve its intended purpose? Well, at least it’s in good company with other terribly patriarchal laws. Good for you for standing up to it.
