I don’t disagree with you about this — it’s a matter of emphasis. I don’t think it’s enough to focus on the privilege that comes from being white and male. We need to make people understand the disadvantages of not being white and male. I want the focus to be on the marginalized people and what they need, rather than (yet again) on those who already have the power.
