I don’t disagree with you that many (if not most) white Americans are in denial about the fact that there is still institutionalized racism — and many men are in denial about the fact that there is still institutionalized sexism. Those people need to be educated and their misconceptions need to be corrected. But I don’t think talking about their privilege is the way to do it. I think we need to talk to those people about the rights that others are still denied.
